As a tourist, you can smoke marijuana in Barcelona, but only in designated clubs. Anywhere, on the beach or in the parks, the consumption of cannabis is prohibited and will be punished if caught red-handed.

In Spain, you can’t have weed on the street, so it makes sense that you can’t take it anywhere. What should you look out for?
There are many places to get pot in the city, but most of these are not legal sources. Always avoid street sellers, because you don’t know what you’re getting, you could be easily scammed, or worse, you could end up in hospital for something fake.
If you want to smoke weed legally, you can only do so in a private home. If you don’t have a host, you’ll need to visit one of Barcelona’s cannabis clubs, where you can request and consume marijuana alongside the regular nightclub services.
Smoking weed is allowed in Barcelona, as it is throughout Spain, but there are strict rules on how and where you can do it. You cannot smoke marijuana anywhere in Spain.
